unless there is a singular purpose across the country to make the Springboks the best they can be.
New Zealand is a small country – four million people, too many sheep and cows to count and two islands.
But they have one thing in their favour. Rugby is the All Blacks.
They are No 1, and everything is done to make sure they stay there.
Contrast that to South Africa.
A country where provincialism abounds so strongly that provincial bias is placed above the national team.
How many times have you heard someone say they aren’t supporting the Boks because
player X, Y or Z isn’t in the team? How many times do you see South African fans
support an opposing team for whatever reason?
