Miguel Angel Angulo is willing to play the derby. Angulo, one of the most remarkable players of last Sunday's match against R.C.D. Espanyol, has talked to www.valenciacf.es in order to analyse the clues of the match between the local teams that will take place next Sunday. Our player, a great veteran in spite of his age, bets for the way of playing showed in Montjuïc, "concentrated and fighting" in order to get the victory against Levante.

Great match against Espanyol.

"Doubtlessly, Valencia C.F. did its best most of all taking into account the adverse circumstances of playing with only ten men. In case Palop was not expulsed unfairly, we would have won in Barcelona. In fact, we were about to win. The problem was Espanyol's fortunate goal in the injury time. Valencia C.F. played with only 10 men after Palop's sending off due to a non-existing penalty that led to the 1-1 draw. At the end, Velamazan's goal prevent a great Valencia from winning the match in Montjuïc. It's remarkable the brilliant debut of the young player Ruz in the lateral. Valencia C.F. was great playing with a men less against a direct rival for European competitions. After having recovered its good image, Valencia C.F. will play against Levante and Osasuna to reach the UEFA Cup.


Valencia C.F. was the first to reach the rival's goal, four minutes after the beginning, with a goal scored by Rufete. R.C.D. Espanyol answerd with a shot of Tamudo that wes stopped by Palop. After a few minutes, the orange team had a great occasion to score but the ball went out of the pitch. Valencia C.F. was playing better and Vicente's occasion was definite before the final goal. In minute 19, a great play by Fabio was finished by Rufete amazingly with a score from the area.


Valencia C.F. was controlling the match perfectly but a cheeky play by Maxi together with the referee's unfortunate and wrong decisions changed the match in half an hour. At the beginning of the second part, the team played better than Espanyol though they were one less. The atmosphere was getting increasingly tense due to Teixeira's errors. Lotina's team, tried to open their play the Amavisca's entrance, and they began to control the pitch more and more. The second goal for Valencia C.F. was scored by Angulo with the help of Espanyol's player Ibarra. From then until the end, Valencia C.F. resisted with a man less until bad luck made possible the draw with a goal scored in minute 92 by Velamazan. What a pity!
