AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri is chasing Tottenham star Rafael van der Vaart.
Allegri wants a readymade replacement signed for veteran Clarence Seedorf, who failed to agree terms over a new contract during talks yesterday.
Corriere dello Sport says fellow Dutchman Van der Vaart is the midfielder Allegri wants to fill the void and he has the backing of the Milan board.
Indeed, agent Mino Raiola has been appointed by Milan to negotiate terms with Spurs for Van der Vaart.
The Rossoneri are prepared to play a long game - and insiders see the negotiations running right through to the end of the summer market on August 30. Milan hope to do business for €15-20 million.
