Barça's return to the Spotify Canp Nou has been delayed for nearly a year. Limak, the turkish company with the renovation contract, won the contract despite being rated the lowest by Barça's technical experts.

They received the lowest technical score, but the club deemed that assessment as non-binding and changed the rules.

According to five sources familiar with the project, Limak at first couldn't justify how their proposed construction timeline was faster than the other bidders.

Ironically, Limak ended up winning precisely because of that same timeline which it has already failed to meet.

They scored below 50/100 in the internal report, mainly for failing to justify its fast construction schedule and for requiring around €200m upfront, while rivals only asked for about €12m.
