Throughout my PPD career I have noticed patterns when my videos get removed and I wanted to share the steps I take to avoid the same mistakes in the hope that some of you guys can avoid these mistakes.
General Rules
There are some general rules everyone should have in mind when dealing with PPD on YouTube.
1. It is against YouTube's terms of service so don't be surprised if your video is deleted (this guide will help stop this though).
2. Only 2 videos per account should be a permanent rule in your mindset for two big reasons. Firstly, YouTube operate on a 3 strikes system so if you had 10 videos on an account it would only take for 3 videos to be removed before you would lose all 10 as your account would be closed. Secondly, the YouTube moderation team will be more likely to remove your account right away if they see you have spammed videos (this is why people that mass download and mass upload don't get warnings and there accounts go straight away).
3. When your video hits 301+ views this isn't some sort of YouTube "block", "ban" or whatever you crazy people think it is. This is simply YouTube catching up with the video in terms of moderating the views correctly on the video. It should be no longer than 12 hours after hitting the view cap that the views retain to their correct amount.
4. Set your comments to "Approved" to avoid getting negative comments like "Survey SMH", "FAAAAAAAAAAAAKE" etc. This is a no brainer really and may even save your video from being removed as if your video was flagged having negative comments will only go against the chances of having the video removed obviously.
Direct Links
Here is my opinion on direct file links:
Never use monetised URL shortners (Adf.ly, Linkbucks etc)
If videos with these kind of links in them get flagged they sometimes don't even require YouTube moderation and go down automatically. I find these kind of links also damage my conversion rate so I wouldn't recommend them anyway.
Mediafire, Zippyshare etc
Despite rumours videos with regular file hosting websites still have a high chance of the video being removed. I think this highly depends on the titles, content within the video and the description so this method still has risk but I would just recommend every quality about your video is HQ to avoid takedown.
Use a Website/Blog Link
This is critical for me and I put 80% of the reason my videos don't go down due to this. It simply appears more legitimate and professional and a member of staff from YouTube's moderation team would most probably believe it's for real as remember they have lots of videos to review so won't go all the way through your file structure just to see if it's legitimate or not. On the website by all means have a direct link to the file but I highly recommend looking into widgets which allow the survey taking process to be completed on your website which to your potential leads look much more legitimate and professional so most probably will boost conversions and EPC. Be sure to have a TLD (top-level domain) for your domain like ".com" etc and avoid having a free hosted domain like ".blogger.com" as this will also affect your conversion rate.
"Post Link A Week Later"
This is true but only for direct linking with monetised or file hosting URLs. If you follow this guide and link to a website/blog then this statement is merely a rumour and you can link straight from when the video is uploaded.
Video Boosting
Views
I boost views more than anything as I believe views appeal more to people than likes or comments but a mixture of them all of course it best as I do but I concentrate more on getting the "correct" views. I quoted correct as of course you want high retention views or in other words views where the viewer views the video for 80-100% of the video length and YouTube take this factor into great consideration when they rank videos so it is a must getting the views right in order to rank.
In terms of view services I see lots of people using services such as Vagex as it can work out for free if you generate points but I prefer to save time and just buy my views from
http://viralsocials.com/ who offer rention views at a very good, competitive price and the thing I love the most about this website is that they often overdeliever views!
Likes
Likes are what some people use to distinguish between fake or real so boosting likes it a great way to also boost your conversion rate as if a potential lead sees 90%+ likes opposed to dislikes they're more likely to go with your file opposed to having more dislikes than likes which is awful in any situation! Likes can be boosted from
http://viralsocials.com/ again and services such as Vagex also offer it.
Comments
Comments are another boosting factor that contribute greatly to your videos conversion rate as comments boasting that your download works great will ultimately make more people attempt to download your file.
http://viralsocials.com/ does again offer comments and they also offer "custom" comments which essentially means you can have what you want like "WORKING!! Thanks so much" etc. I'm aware other services also offer this like Vagex for example.
Subscribers
Boosting YouTube subscribers on the channel your niche video has been uploaded to will make your video seem more legitimate although I personally don't do this as I believe it is very rare someone will take channel subscribers into account when working out the legitimacy of a video so I recommend this but not as much as the boosting factors listed above.
Aid your Video's Ranking
Pinging Your Video
I highly recommend pinging your video to search engines after it's uploaded to encourage search engines to index it quicker and hopefully encourage a healthy high rank on the top page. If your video also meant the creation of a webpage I recommend pinging that also! I currently use two pinging websites everytime I upload a video and add webpages to my niche websites.
http://www.bulkping.com/ - Requires just link and Keyword Anchor (I use title keywords like "PSN Code Generator").
http://x10submit.com/ - Requires link and email (some search engines/directories require your confirmation). This one takes a while (around 3-5 minutes per link) but I fully recommend leaving it to work it's magic.
http://www.cleversubmitter.com/ - Only been using this one recently but I believe it works just as well as x10Submit. I wouldn't recommend submitting to both as it would be classed as spam by the search engines and directories and may get you banned but obviously you can if you want to.
Create your own Backlinks
Post links to your video with keyword anchors ("PSN Code Generator" etc) on websites with great SEO rankings like Facebook, Slideshare, Popular Forums related to your niche, Pastebin etc.
Optimising the video for YouTube
Video Quality
I have also found that having a HD (720p minimum) video also improves conversion rate (obviously) but I know a lot of people steal videos in the community so if you persist on stealing videos look for a good version of a video and use
http://keepvid.com/ to download your chosen videos if you do steal them. Select MP4 720p or 1080p when downloading the video. There isn't much difference between 720 and 1080 so personally I choose 720 to save time.
YouTube Detect Duplicates
Don't just download a video and reupload the video as YouTube will notice it's a duplicate and sometimes they reject it but on the other hand they may accept it but this will dramatically affect the ranking of the video so I recommend if you're stealing videos to edit the video like adding a watermark or cutting ends/beginnings off the videos you're downloading.
Video Title
The title of your video is probably the most important feature when it comes to creating your niche video as it is driving force in bringing traffic to your video as it is seen first when people are looking for a video. Make the title as you would expect to see it. Use good grammar and punctuation as if you don't you WILL lose leads.
Here is a look at how I would create a title -

Video Description
The description of your video should also be HQ in terms of how you write it. Just putting your link will look unprofessional and lose you possible leads so please give your description some structure and stick to the structure for all your videos.
This is how I would structure my descriptions:
[WRITE THE TITLE AGAIN BUT MORE CASUALLY AND WITH THE STUFF IN BRACKETS IN A SENTANCE]
[HAVE THE DOWNLOAD LINK ON THE THIRD LINE AS VIEWERS DON'T HAVE TO OPEN DESCRIPTION TO DOWNLOAD. THIS WILL IMPROVE CONVERSION RATE]
[DESCRIBE HERE IN A SENTENCE OR TWO WHAT THIS DOWNLOAD DOES. MAY SEEM OBVIOUS BUT YOU CAN USE A LOT OF KEYWORDS HERE WHICH WILL IMPROVE RANKING/SEO OF YOUR VIDEO]
[DESCRIBE HERE IN A SENTENCE OR TWO THAT THIS DOWNLOAD IS SAFE AND YOU GUARANTEE SATISFACTION OR SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LINES]
[INCLUDE A STEP-TO-STEP GUIDE ON HOW THE VIEWER CAN DOWNLOAD AND USE YOUR FILE. I OFTEN DO 1-5 TO MAKE IT APPEAR VERY SIMPLE AND THIS IMPROVES MY CONVERSION RATE I AM SURE]
[PUT A NEW HEADING OF "TAGS" OR SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LINES AND PUT A LOT OF NICHE ASSOCIATED KEYWORDS TO HELP IMPROVE RANKING. I USE THE GOOGLE ADWORDS TOOL HERE]
