I'm also having the same Issue and realize that the real problem relies on Google app. If you disable the "OK Google" recognition on any screen the mic will work as it is..

This update is terrible. I have the Z3, Z2, and Z3 Tablet Compact and fortunately the Z3 D6603 is the only one I've updated to 5.1.1. I'm now using the Z2 as my primary phone on 5.0.2...
Problems with 5.1.1:
Battery drain. Am running on stamina mode and, well, just on standby my phone dropped from 100% to 8% in 5.5 hours. Used to be days.
Charging. Z2 next to the Z3 both on quick charge - Z2 from 50% to 100% in the same time it took my Z3 to get from 50% to 64% and unlike the Z2, the Z3 was very hot.
Screen. Waking up the screen on Adaptive Brightness results in about 4 seconds of ridiculous contrast that was not there before.
Camera. No difference in quality at all, but after taking a photo, clicking on the preview no longer takes you to the gallery app..
Lock screen. No longer shows remaining time to full. Why?
Task managers no longer work.
Generally slow and laggy.
Before anyone asks - yes I've done the whole fresh install. Nothing.
4. I forgot - the speaker volume (which was poor before) is even worse. The bottom speaker in particular is even quieter than it was and far quieter than the top speaker. Each release, Sony talk about volume enhancements and I don't recall one single improvement.
