* He hardly knew his father, cult rock star Tim Buckley, who left his mum before he was born
* Studied at the Musician's Institute in LA then moved to New York to make his fortune
* Worked for a while with rap/reggae innovator Shinehead
* His favourite band was Led Zeppelin
* Helped popularise the Sufi music of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in the United States
* An enthusiast of the Fluxus art movement, his role in one ‘performance’ involved intimidating a plant by screaming at it, "You make me want to puke!"
* Tragically died at the age of 30 by accidentally drowning in the Mississippi River. (His father had died of an accidental drug overdose, aged 28)
