“Social Song” Video ContestWe are happy to continue our “Social Song” event with a music video contest. You have the chance visualize our final “MMX (The Social Song)” and become part Enigma’s next video director team.
So, what are we looking for:
An original video creation in the spirit of Enigma, the “Social Song” event and not at least the MMX (THE SOCIAL SONG) itself. Please check out the recently changed game plan!!!
Ideally you should shoot it by yourself or use shooting material. We are also fine with graphical animations. Picture flashes are o.k., but probably less common for music videos.
Unique. Unique. Unique. No one takes pride in being a copycat!
Due to legal requirements we have to set some rules. You have to read them carefully and agree before you upload your video. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any video that does not meet the requirements. So, it’s very important that you check it out first.
These are the requirements:
You have to be the owner of your source material, which means the films, pictures and text used in your video have to be created by yourself. We want to avoid any copyright infringements!
Please do not use former Enigma videos. There is no point of creating another mix of our previous videos.
Avoid religious, political or any offending symbols or messages.
The video has to be delivered as a YouTube video. In order to upload a file, you need to have a valid YouTube account.
Your videos should be delivered in 16:9 format with a minimum resolution of 640×360 and in a file format supported by YouTube. Tips of how to optimize your YouTube can be found here. HD uploads are desired.
Everyone who uploads a video allows us to use his/her creation free of charge. The creators of those parts that will be used in the final song will get an official credit.
If your video meets the above mentioned guidelines, you can now upload your file. Please click on the button below and follow the instructions! After submitting your video, it might take up to 24 hours for us to review and approve your submission. We kindly ask for your patience.

Game Plan for Video Contest has changed!

As a follow-up of Enigma’s “Social Song” event we recently hosted a video contest giving everyone the chance to create the official music video for our MMX (THE SOCIAL SONG) single.
We really appreciate the effort those have taken that already submitted their creations and we are really looking forward to those who are about to finish their videos! But we also listened to our fans’ feedback of the last days and weeks. There is nothing more important for us than to make this event as interactive and collaborative as possible, but we have to acknowledge that the creation of a 4 minute original video requires a quite advanced set of skills and resources – probably too advanced to simply be part of a celebration. We completely understand that not everybody has the chance to shoot by herself/himself to the quality standards she/he wants to deliver for Enigma.
Even though we cannot and don’t want to change general legal obligations, we sat down to think about how to make this contest more open and “social”. You never complete learning and we are no exception, but creativity can help a lot to solve a problem. So, we decided to change the game plan to give everyone the opportunity to join our online venture. And this is what we have changed:
From now on we do accept every video material, whether it is short or long! Do you have some nice shootings from your last holiday trip? What is your home town known for? Any special moments with your friends or family you want to share? What – form your opinion – does the MMX (THE SOCIAL SONG) stand for? Your personal message for Enigma? Then please upload your video and don’t forget: We still can use material that you own only. Do not submit documentaries or sequences from other music videos!
We do not go for a voting anymore to pick one video, but will try to combine as much different video sequences as possible. Michael will be our supervisor here. This will be a truly social experience! And yes, please let us know what you think would fit the best.
You don’t have to worry about the audio part of your video. No editing according to the final song is required. After the submission period ends, we’ll review all uploaded videos and create a final version out of different sequences. So, what matters is your video material only! We take care of the rest (and the song).
Important: Do not use any songs from Enigma or other bands! Your video file might be blocked in certain countries due to copyright issues.
We will extend the deadline to February 25, 2011 !!!
Important: Every already submitted video will be considered automatically and has equal chances to be part of the final video! If you still want to send in full length videos, then go ahead! No limits to your creativity.
That’s it so far. We hope that we’ll be able to welcome you soon as an active part of our contest! Feel free to watch and comment on the already submitted videos in our gallery.
P.S. We are working on another surprise for you at the moment, which we’ll hopefully release end of next week. There is something purely “social” to come… Please stay tuned!
