ალანის მორისეტი ალტერნატიული როკის საუკეთესო წარმომადგენელია. იგი უფრო მეტად 90-იან წლებშI იყო განსაკუთრებით პოპულარული.
ყველაზე დიდი პოპულარობა მოიპოვა მისმა ანლბომმა Jagged Little Pill, რომელიც სუპერჰიტად იქცა. ალანისი სიმღერასაც და სიტყვებს თვითონ წერს.
საერთოდ ალანისი დაიბადა ოტავაში, კანადაში. პატარაობაში პიანინოზე უკრავდა და სიმღერებს წერდა. ათი წლის ასაკში მონაწილეობა მიიღო ბავშვთა გადაცემა You Can't Do That-ში. აღებული ფულით ალანისმა ჩაწერა პირველი დამოუკიდებელი სინგლი "Fate Stay With Me". მისი მუსიკალური კარიერა 10 წლის ასაკში დაიწყო. 14 წლის ალანისი უკვე კონცერტებს მართავდა. 1991 წელს ტორონტოში გადავიდა საცხოვრებლად და ჩაწერა თავისი პირველი, დამწყები ალბომი ,, ალანისი''.
კანადაშI ალანისი საკმაოდ წარმატებული იყო მისი ალბომები 10 000-ობით იყიდებოდა. 1992 წელს ჩაწერა თავისი ალბომი ,,Now Is the Time'' და ამ პერიოდში ალანისმა უამრავი პრიზები მიიღო სხვადასხვა მუსიკალურ დაჯილდოვებებზე.
,,Now Is the Time'' ალანისმა ჩაწერა ლოს ანჯელესში, სადაც გაიცნო Glen Ballard-ი( რომელმაც შემდგომში მაიკლ ჯეკსონის ჰიტი "Man in the Mirror" დაწერა).
ალბომმა Jagged Little Pill MTV-ს დაჯილდოვებაზეც გაიმარჯვა. ნომინაციაზე ალანისს წარდგენილი ჰქონდა ოთხი სინგლი, აგრთვე "Ironic"-იც რომელმაც დიდი წარმატება მოიპოვა, ანალისმა Grammy-ს დაჯილდოვებაზე 1996 წელს უამრავ ნომინაციაში გაიმარჯვა, აგრეთვე წლის საუკეთესო სიმღერისა და ალობომის ნომინაციაში.
მომავალში აკანისმა Jagged Little Pill-ის აკუსტიკური ვერსიაც ჩაწერა, ანუ აკუსტიკურ გიტარაზე. ალანისს მსოფლიოს გარშემო უამრავი ფანი ჰყავს. ინტერნეტშიც უამრავი ფანსაიტია და აგრეთვე ოფიციალური საიტი www. alanis.com
ბოლო ალბომი ალანისმა 2005 წელს გამოსცა სახელით ,,Collection'' რომელიც 18 სიმღერას მოიცავდა.
