We know you do remember your USSR solo-tour with solo band, 5 sold-out gigs (right before Tbilisi War) in Tbilisi Spots Palace and great wedding, with beautifull Bron. It was the EVENT, our city never forgets.
Ian, you may won't be surprised that your name is the biggest ROCK NAME in here (as well as in the rest of the world). unfortunately we've not seen any Purple's shows home and always keep on searching Purple's tourdates, to check out if you come near to Georgia. Yeah, you visited Turkey 1998, 2002 & 2006, but there were hard times here, so probably no Georgian fan managed to see the greatest rock band (guess which band I mean
) live. 2 month ago we found out you visiting Turkey once more... And the story begins here... I made some calls to my friends telling things like that: "this is the time when dreams come true, guess what happens"... and their answer was "what, is DP coming to Georgia?"... not to Georgia but In Turkey. Then in 5 minutes I wrote sms to one of my friend and your great fan, "Katie, Turkey Istanbul, July 20th, guess what happens?" and her answer was: "yeaouuuuuuuuuuww, this is Deeeeeeep Puprleeeeee"... in 10 minutes all of them were in my house, guessing that we SHOULD do EVERYTHING to make purple dreams turn into reality. I began organizing everything and yeah, the result is, collected 50 young Georgian fans so far (one full bus) to visit Istanbul on July 20.
Today was a BIG day - all of the fans had meeting and discussed the plans. tomorrow we'll begin promotional campaign to promote Purple's Istanbul show in Tbilisi. 2 versions of promo-posters are made/printed already. We think the promotion will bring even more fans to Istanbul. so, see what happens and how will it work... radio-interviews are in negotiations, as well..
Ian, I have 2 questions to you...
at first, please, tell us the story of your 1990 visit in Tbilisi, 5 concerts and wedding then. you and Bron were dressed in National Georgian clothes (I've seen 3 photos of the wedding). So, please tell us the story how Tbilisi remains in your memory, as you've seen tens and hundreds of another cities on the world. by the way, I can send you some nice photos of your and Bron's wedding.
and please, say something to the tens of Georgian fans, who're going to Istanbul for a single happiest purple night, wish us what you wish, your short message will encourage us soooooooo much
P.S If Deep Purple will visit Tbilisi, you'll see the biggest crowd you've ever played to.

(I would like to tell you another story, how I first listened to Child In Time, in the age of 7, right while the REAL bullets were flying in my house in Tbilisi, during the war in Georgia. Quite ironically, the song Child In Time is about war, and I was child, watching real bullets flying and listening to your screaming... screaming was the only thing I wanted to do then, with you... and I did it....
unfortunatelly, I think you're quite busy and bored now, to read another story from another "falled-in-love" fan
