Large-scale transformation of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was announced by Commander Mykhailo Drapatiy: “Key priorities are people, technology and transparent management”
Fundamental changes are starting in the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which will affect the situation on the front in favor of Ukraine. This transformation will cover recruiting and military training, the latest technologies and combat management, digitalization of processes in the army, transformation of management, logistics and social support of the military.
The beginning of these changes was announced by the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatiy at the Supreme Commander-in-Chief headquarters on Thursday, December 12:
“The Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine must become high-tech, flexible and adaptive. Elite! People, technology and transparent management are our focus,” emphasized Major General Mykhailo Drapatiy. He added that the announced changes have the full support of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and will be implemented jointly with the General Staff, the Ministry of Defense and civil society: volunteers and charitable foundations.
What and how will change in the largest structural part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is the Ground Forces?
· Military training: we are talking about reforming training programs and centers, as well as using the most modern simulators and other new technologies in training. The training of a fighter should be best adapted to the needs of the front.
“The skills and abilities of our foundation — the infantryman — should be as applied and practical as possible, without unnecessary lyrics, and the main carriers of this knowledge will be the sergeant corps with combat experience. The emphasis in these changes will be on the principles of military leadership and knowledge of technologies. Without such skills, it is impossible to control the chaos of battle, and now this is one of the main goals for changing the situation on the front,” explains Mykhailo Drapaty.
· Recruitment and social support: the Land Forces will introduce a transparent recruiting model with zero tolerance for corruption. At the same time, the approach to social support for a serviceman will change. He must feel constant care for himself: from the first day of service to employment in civilian life after discharge.
· Technologies: a Ukrainian infantryman must have a technological advantage over the enemy on the battlefield.
· Optimization of management processes: “Maneuverability and efficiency” are needed in the administrative apparatus, the basis for this will be organizational changes and digitalization.
The first areas to experience management changes will be logistics and military training. After all, they are crucial for the combat capability of the Ukrainian army.
"Today, the Land Forces need changes, new energy from soldiers, and a modern approach to developing their capabilities. On this day, on the Day of the Land Forces, I want to say: changes will definitely happen! No matter how difficult it is for us, we have no right not to do this. The Ukrainian people, every soldier, having joined the ranks of the Armed Forces, has already begun to build the army of the future. We must complete our work with a double victory: both over the enemy and over everything that hindered the transformation of the army. Together!", - concluded the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
