BILD has published an exclusive list of military equipment that the Ukrainian government has requested as military aid from the German government. Military and industry circles seem to have confirmed the existence of this list.
The Ukrainian government requested:
— 4 IRIS-T SLM complexes;
- 1500 IRIS-T SL missiles;
- 500 IRIS-T missiles;
— 200,000 40 mm shells to protect against drones;
— 1000 MRAPs (various systems);
- 200 units of tracked vehicles (various systems);
— 30 demining tanks;
— 20-30 WiSENTs;
— 200 SUVs for the transportation of special forces;
— 1000 GPS jammers to protect against enemy drones;
— 200 ground-based radar stations
I have something to say about this.
IRIS-T SLM
Apparently, Ukraine has asked for four additional IRIS-T SLM complexes (each of which always includes two additional IRIS-T SLS launchers), as well as 1500 missiles for IRIS-T SLM and 500 missiles for IRIS-T SLS.
In fact, I assume that this request has already been granted. At the end of May 2025, Ukraine and Diehl Defense signed a contract for the supply of four IRIS-T SLM systems worth €2.2 billion as part of the latest military aid package of the German government worth €5 billion.
At that time, I already noted that at a price of about 140 million euros for a firing system, a huge package of ammunition containing a four-digit number of missiles should be included. It looks like I was right in my assumptions.
As for the supply of missiles, we are talking about quantities that we could only dream of before. As of February 2025, "only" 658 IRIS-T/IRIS-T SL missiles were delivered to Ukraine.
Ground Radar Stations
We also already have an official statement on ground radar stations that will be relevant to the report. In mid-April, the German government promised 100 ground-based radar stations of an unknown type as part of a military aid package.
More interesting was the statement of German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius. According to his statement at the UDCG meeting, in addition to the 100 promised systems, the delivery of 1100 (!) ground-based radars is already "in Aussicht gestellt", which means that the delivery is planned, but not yet fixed by the contract.
Therefore, I am sure that this request will also be fulfilled without any problem.
