Hello LOST lovers. I've found out something akward about the numbers. I hope it hasn't been discussed a 100 times before. If yes I'm sorry...
4 + 8 + 15 + 16 + 23 + 42 = 108 --- 1 + 0 + 8 = 9
4 = 4
8 = 8
1+5 = 6
1+6 = 7
2+3 = 5
4+2 = 6
________
36 --- 3 + 6 = 9
Now the name : DHARMA
D = the 4th letter of the alphabet, so :
D H A R M A
4 + 8 + 1 +18 +13 +1 = 45 --- 4+5 = 9
4 + 8 + 1 + 1 + 8 + 1 + 3 + 1 = 27 --- 2+7 = 9
So, the strange part is that all the numbers and even the name of the society is related to the number 9.

In German = NEUN
In Spanish = NUEVE
In Italian = NOVE
In English = NINE
The common root comes from the Greek word "NEOS"
In German = NEU
In Spanish = NUEVO
In Italian = NUOVE
In English = NEW
In the Christian religion, 9 is the symbol of the "germ", "the beginning", something or someone "NEW". But also "The end".
So, it also means the end of a cycle and the beginning of another...Like the button to push every 108 minutes...
Other things related to the number 9 :
- 9 months = the time a foetus needs to become a baby and be born.
- 9 planets
- 9 is the Templars sacred number
Well, I don't really know how all this is related to the story, but i think it might be an interesting track.
