Casket size
From the overhead view, the casket appears to be a child's casket. The arm span of an adult male is generally held to be equal to his height. Jack is 6 feet 2 inches tall. The overhang of the lid seems to be roughly 3 inches on both ends, and the lids length is roughly twice that of the distance from the center of Jack's shoulders to the tip of his index finger. Assuming at least 3 inches of padding or other material inside the casket on either end, this leaves less than 5 feet of space for the occupant.
Jack is standing very close to the coffin, it seems he's touching it. So there should be no distortion by perspective between the width of his hip and the upper edge of the coffin (two very close, parallel lines). His hip is 17 mm, the coffin edge 90 mm. Assuming Jack's hip is 15" broad (~1/5 of his height would be normal), the coffin would be 15/17*90 ~ 79.4 inches = 6 feet 7.4 inches long.
Going by the above calculations to arrive at a maximum height for the corpse, we should start with 6'7" minus 3"*2 (overhang) minus 3"*2 (padding), would end up 12" shorter than the total length, so the body inside would be less than 5'7". Even so, with another 3" gap at the head and heels we can subtract another 6", leaving the corpse's height no taller than 5'1", a very short person. Also, note if the above calculations are correct, Jack's hips could be (15+15+4+4)"=38" waist, which could even be a little broad for a man of Jack's size, and if that is so the coffin would be even shorter than hypothesized.
As it is a closed casket the body could be heavily mutilated hence the size of the casket may not be related to person's height.
The body would not be mutilated because the funeral director said "would you like me to open it up?" this implies that the body is not mutilated.
It is possible that the coffin size is irrelevant, it was just a prop, and they did not consider the height of the deceasead when choosing the coffin
The person died on April 5, the same day Kurt Cobain committed suicide, and Jack is listening to Nirvana's Scentless Apprentice on the way to the funeral home.
