Carver and Singer say that season 9 is going to open where season 8 left off. Yay, no time skips!
Singer says that Sam will still be "quite ill" but how he bounces back from that is a "real spoiler”.
Crowley will still be under Sam and Dean’s control, probably still tied up (but Carver and Singer made it clear that he is not human, but Crowley did enjoy his brief touch with humanity and that idea "will color him throughout the season.")
Castiel will be in the woods alone. Not with Sam or Dean. *sniffs*
The angels are discussed!
“They’re not happy about being earthbound. They lost their wings, so while they have powers, they can’t teleport. Different factions will find each other," Singer said. Misha said that, "all these disgruntled former angels with a certain amount of power would make for a formidable army.”
Misha says that Castiel has fallen and will "be human for the first time."
Characters—whose returning and who isn’t?
Abaddon seems to be the Big Bad of season 9. When speaking of Crowley’s iffy alliance to come in season 9 with Sam and Dean, Singer says, "…but there’s someone else who wants to take over the reins of Hell. That person is an enemy to the boys, so there’s a certain ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’ feeling between them." But Alaina Huffman as Abaddon is unlikely since that “meatsuit" kinda burned in the finale.
Carver says "I hope we see her [Charlie Bradbury] again.”
Henry Winchester: Carver says, "It might not be in the present, but he’s part of our world now." I think it’s unlikely he’d make a return as anything other than a flashback of some sort (or maybe in one of those old movie reels in the bunker?). But the TV Guide issue does have some focus on the Men of Letters society (and bunker) being explored in season 9.
Singer says, "The fans love Benny. We’ll probably find a way to bring him back." So they do listen.

)
Kevin Tran "has a role to play…because he has an angel tablet that hasn’t been translated yet," Singer says.
Carver says, "I would think that Metatron is someone that we will be hearing from.”
So, Naomi got stabbed in the head, right—well to this, Carver says, "Supernatural is Supernatural." So maybe Naomi’s going to get a new vessel if hers is beyond repair.
No word on Meg
