Wallace anxious for playoffs to beginApril 16, 2010 by Gerald Wallace
We’re headed to the playoffs. It’s been a couple days since the season ended and it still feels great to say. It feels great. I’ve been here six years. I was here when people didn’t even know who we were or that we were even in the NBA. To get it turned around and start to get the recognition inside and outside the state is great for us, and the playoffs are only going to make things better for us.
It’s going to be my first time ever really being a part of the playoffs, so hopefully I can enjoy it and learn from it. Now it’s more business. It’s win or go home now, so the attitude of the guys is more serious and we’re more focused on what we have to do as far as our principals and carrying out our assignments. We know we’re the underdog in this series so we have to go out and prove ourselves and prove we belong. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, we just have to go out and take care of business and do what we’re supposed to do.
Heading to Orlando, we’re looking at doing what we’re supposed to do as a team. If we take care of our principals, carry out assignments and play the way we know we’re capable of playing, everything else will take care of itself.
We want to come back to Charlotte strong, because it’s going to be great to play in the playoffs in front of our home crowd. I hope it’s going to be amazing. I hope our first playoff game here turns out to be something memorable for our fans and us. We just want them to come out and support us and get behind us. We’re heading in the right direction, so all we need is support and for them to back us up. I can’t wait to see you all there.
