Knicks waiting on Shannon Brown
Guard Shannon Brown(notes) could be moving to New York City to man the New
York Knicks backcourt with Raymond Felton(notes). The man who has won two
championships with the Los Angeles Lakers is a free agent and the Knicks have made him an offer, according to CBSSports.com.
The site reports, though, that Brown won't take the offer until it becomes clear if the Lakers are going to trade Sasha Vujacic(notes), which would make room for
him, or not.
The 24-year-old Brown appeared in all 82 games for the Lakers last year, averaging 8.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
Vujacic is scheduled to make $5.3 million this year and the Lakers are already over the luxury-tax threshold so moving him would help.
