Earlier today, Zerbah (a representative of Gaijin) met with representatives of some RB squadrons to discuss the state of SRB and the game in general. While by no means a complete list, here's some relevant points (to SRB, WWM, and RB matches in general) that were written down by a squadron member.
Relevant to squadrons:
Ordnance will not be removed from planes participating in SRB matches. (note - I'm not sure on this one; it literally said "Ordnance cannot be removed or edited for a period of time during Squadron Battles.")
The occurrence of Ardennes map in squadron battles will be reduced.
Zerbah isn't personally pleased with the rewards given out to squadrons that don't place at the top. He wrote down that he'd like to add more rewards, possibly including loot boxes.
Zerbah referred to reward decals being lost as season's end as a 'problem', and seemed intent to fix it, but was not entirely clear.
Zerbah indicated matchmaking attempts to match you with the closest available ELO rated squadron in the queue at that time.
"Gaijin is aware of [the use of alt accounts in SRB] and they want to change the system, but they haven't figured out how to do it. It's pretty hard, right now, because there has to be a lot of changes, and how to change it so that squadrons don't lose a lot of players... I don't have a lot of details about this, but they are thinking about this at the very top. It's important to Gaijin to fix this, but they don't want to hurt IS-6 sales, and all that..." "Soon, TM."
On changing things up from being just rank IV vehicles: "There was a talk inside Gaijin that they wanted to introduce different ranks of vehicles into Squadron Battles. Since the Russian community also asked a question about it, I will ask them again if they are ready to release it. I don't think Rank I or Rank II will be very interesting."
There is a possibility that squadron battles could undergo a weekly BR change, i.e. 1.0-2.0, 4.0-5.0, etc., changing weekly.
Zerbah indicates 'pre-set' vehicles in squadron battles will not happen. Players require an incentive to research the vehicles to be effective in squadron battles.
Squadrons will remain at 128 members.
Gaijin debated augmenting the game to change the meta to allow for more and more varied vehicles to be reasonable in squadron battles. Apparently it failed, because any changes just made it better for other vehicles instead.
Gaijin 'satisfied' with how many members play squadron battles, and have vested interest in retaining the existing player base.
Gaijin has no interest in 'clan benefits', that is, rewarding players just because they're in a squadron. (Yeah, no shit...)
Zerbah notes the problem of 'sun bias', and acknowledges that all tournament games take place at noon with clear skies, and Squibs do not. This may be changed.
Zerbah 'would consider' T32, Tiger II 105, maybe even Centurion Mk. 10 in squadron battles. (Nobody'll take the Tiger II 105, I guarantee it - also, talk about powercreep with the Mk.10)
No current plans for planes to be further nerfed in SRB, after airfield spawn for fighters and 4 air only.
It's possible that Gaijin will make all planes spawn on the airfield, but not likely.
Realistic Squadron Battles are "looking good from the standpoint of Gaijin", and that they're "looking to keep it that way."
Relevant to WWM:
WWM testing will begin next week.
WWM will not replace SRB.
WWM will be operated in 2 hour sessions, during which armies will be moved by commanders and officers. Multiple squadrons will participate on each side. Commanders/officers will be engaged/busy during that entire time. Battles will take place on existing RB tank maps. Individual battles will be similar to standard battle time, but there will be many of them occurring at once. 32vs32 battles are the largest battles the game can support on the ground. Squadrons choose the side of the conflict to be on at the beginning.
(Nothing was mentioned about how random players can participate right now)
Next Sunday at the same time there will be a meeting regarding WWM.
2 squadrons chosen will be chosen next Tuesday to be in the initial test. All squadrons will eventually participate in the test of WWM, with more squadrons added every week. One test per week for now.
Relevant to RB in general:
Having 8-man squads is "not possible".
The ability of dead players to enter the replay hovercam and then pan freely around the map is in fact a bug and Gaijin is looking to fix it.
Marker-less(simulator spotting) tournaments coming soon.
Russian and German vehicles(specifically Me 410, and others) will be receiving new kinds of ordnance to balance their CAS ability relative to other nations.
