Artemis 30 The Twin 30mm Cannon Carriage - $2,999,999
The Artemis 30 Twin Cannon Carriage is especially designed to combat air targets at short ranges with high effectiveness and low cost. It can be automatically controlled by a distant fire control system or locally by a gunner. The high rate of fire together with the great accuracy ensure effective operation against multiple targets. The A- 30 T.C.C. (twin cannon carriage) can be provided, according to the customer’s requirements, with intergrated optronic fire control thus maximizing its operational capabilities. Basic features include local control with remote designation (radar or optical), fully automatic computation of ballistics based on laser ranging, easy tracking and further expansion to night operation. The T.C.C. (Twin Cannon Carriage) is a towed autonomous, twin axle, split type, twin cannon carriage, with its own power generating set, placed on a detachable front axle. Two 30mm automatic cannons are placed on either side of elevating structure and are completely independent of each other. The 30mm automatic cannons are placed on either side of the elevating structure and are completely independent of each other. The ammunition capacity of the carriage is 500 rounds ready to be fired at a rate of fire of 800 rds/min per barrel. In the deployed position the cannon carriage is supported by two slewable outriggers with hydraulic supports on the left and right side of the main frame and a hydraulic support on the rear of the main frame. The rear axle is swung up and the carriage is lowered to ensure that the center of gravity is as low as possible. The modes of operation include, remote, local and emergency operation. In the remote mode, the T.C.C. receives positional and functional commands from a fire control system whilst in local mode all TCC functions are controlled by one gunner as long as electrical power and hydraulic system are on. Emergency operation is a back up mode in the case that electrical power is completely off, where the gunner uses manual pressure control and hand crank wheels for mechanical positioning.

Artemis-30 / Skyguard Low Level Air Defence System (LLADS) - $3,999,999
The intergrated system consisting of two Artemis – 30 Twin Cannon Carriages and one Skyguard Fire Control Unit was tested succesfully for the Hellenic Armed Forces during the summer 1996. The system can be expanded to include missile launchers, in order to engage a variety of targets ranging from large multi-engined bombers to high performance fighters, helicopters, missiles and RPV’s at ranges from “Arms Length to well in excess of 10 km around the clock”. Two Guns were deployed. According to the required scenarios one or both guns fired preactice ammunition with tracer against aerial targets approaching from various directions. The Artemis – 30 / Skyguard LLADS exhibits unique characteristics such as: -Very small dispersion -High rate of fire -High hit/kill probability -Very effective family of ammunition -All weather operation -Short reaction time -ECM resistants -ECCM features -Easily air transported by C-130 and/or helicopters.Among the objectives of the system acceptance test besides the demonstration of the compability of the two systems Artemis – 30 and Skyguard was to fully document and record results of the whole series of trails including firings. To this end both Hellenic Arms Industry and Oerlikon – Contraves set up a comprehensive array of recording equipment and of specialized personnel. The site used for the firing trials of the Artemis – 30 / Skyguard system is situated on the seashore northwestern Crete. The sketch indicates the limits of the firing zone over the Aegean. The Skyguard fire control system was manned by the usual crew of two.EAS supports the Artemis - 30/Skyguard LLADS with its own family of 30 mm x 173 Ammo, in use with the Hellenic Armed Forces, which includes TP, TP-T, HEI, HEI-T, SAPHEI and APDS rounds. Miss Distance Indicators (MFI) recording equipment and personnel were provided by NAMFI. The extensive firing trails served to prove the effectiveness of the intergrated Artemis – 30 / Skyguard all weather highly resistant to E.C.M. LLAD system and its capability of succesfully engaging and hitting low flying aerial targets.
