BEIJING, Aug 05, 2011 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- China Railway 23th Construction Bureau., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC, SHSE: 601186), won bid for a railway reconstruction project in Georgia at CHF 267 million (not including value-added tax), or CNY 2.19 billion, in terms of CRCC's announcement on August 4.
The bid price accounts for 0.47 percent of the CRCC's total revenue in 2010 under People's Republic of China Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (PRC GAAP).
According to the announcement, total construction period for the Georgia project amounts to 55 months. Located in Central Georgia, the project includes 18.256 kilometers of railway under reconstruction and 38.3 kilometers under construction.
The project will lift travel time between Tbilisi and Batumi from 8 hours to 3 hours and 20 minutes. An 8.35 kilometer single track tunnel is the key and longest single track construction.
