It worked for me and my friends.
1: Log on to Hamachi
2: Disable your primary network (not your hamachi...keep that running! Very importand).
3: Launch Rome Total War and go to LAN games.
4: Alt-Tab out and re-enable your primary network.
5: Connect to Hamachi.
6: Alt-Tab back into the game, and you should be able to see your friends.
It seems that the game first looks at the lan connection. And because your lan connection is active, it thinks that it is the right one.
Using this method, it thinks that lan is'nt working (because we shut it down) it looks at the Hamachi connection. And because it is active (hamachi is running) it thinks the connection works and uses that connection.
