Teutonic Early Trush
by Tsar_Alexander1
Tsar_Ivan_wtf Forumer posted 12-11-01 07:13 PM EST (US) Teutonic early TRUSH by ~Tsar_Ivan_wtf This strategy pertains to AoC.
This Strategy isn't the full guide to the one of the mightiest defenders in AOK:TC, the Teutons. This is just one of their strongest strats. It exploits many of the civilization's bonuses to overwhelm the opponent with stone-hard attack. Here are the bonuses which help Teutons to execute this strategy: 33% Cheaper farms, TC bigger LOS, Towers 2x garrison, monks heal from 2x as far. Pretty much you exploit all of the bonuses of Teutons which make you real hard to beat. Lets get down to business.
DARK AGE 0:00
3 vils: 2-vils make a house, 1-make a house. Try to make the houses in the direction of the center of the map, so later on they will be part of the "wall".
After you find your 4 sheep, send 2 to TC and other 2 assign a number and explore in different direction of the scout. After the house is done 2 vils goes on sheep and 1 on wood.
4th: goes on sheep- make all villagers work on one sheep at a time while another sheep stays near by, the rest of the sheep should be a bit away not to make villagers bump while walking to another sheep.
5th: goes on sheep
6th: goes on sheep send all sheep you find to TC exploring on the way dark area
7th: goes on sheep
8th: goes to build a house the boar
9th: goes on sheep -
LOOM, when the house is done by 8th villager loom should be researched-- lure the boar with 8th vil, run to TC and while 7 vils attack garrison the lurer and send back to work on sheep.
10th: goes to sheep
11th: goes on sheep
12th: goes to sheep
13th: goes to lure another boar
14th: builds a lumber camp-chops wood
15th: builds stone-camp- mines stone
16th: sheep/boar
17th: sheep/boar
18th: wood
19th: wood By now if you’ve done all food you must have a little over 500. Immediately......
Click Feudal.
Get 7 healthy food gatherers to go to well scouted enemy base. Send 2 more to wood. Send 4 more to stone mine. The rest should be eating food remains. (7 forwards, 5 stone miners, 4 lumber jacks, 3 foodies) Near the enemy's stone make a house with forwards.
FEUDAL AGE 9:20-10:20
Your economy should run smoothly and you must send next 4 villies on food (Mill should be up already); then on wood, you’ve got to get the feel what you need. But keep in mind you’ll need a blacksmith soon, and constant villy flow. The enemy shouldn't reach feudal by now for at least 30 seconds.
Now it's gets interesting. Start a tower with your 7 forwards about a screen away from enemy's TC. Send 2 of those forward villies to build a 2nd tower near your 1st, but closer to his TC.
If the enemy is dumb enough to attack your almost finished 2 towers, just garrison the tower which he isn't attacking and stick his vills with 7 arrows at a time. If he send lots and lots of his villies to attack, then ungarrison 2 vils-- each to repair towers while eliminating one villager by one (micro-managing your tower attack).
To protect your towers, you can also make palisades from 7 sides. If he is smart, on the other hand, he will relocate and make a wall preventing the circling of his TC. Here’s what you can do in this case: build towers to cover all his expensive farms, make a tower near a palisade and attack it with vils while 4 of your vils are inside the tower; get his berries and other important resources with palisading. This attack should slow him so much he won’t be able to reach castle in the near future.
THE KEY HERE IS TO GET HIS FARMS UNDER TOWER FIREPOWER, SO HE CANNOT GET FOOD AND COUNTER RUSH YOU, OR EVEN KEEP HIS CONSTANT VILLY FLOW!!!.
The enemy probably already built his Barracks/Stable further decreasing his wood which are useless without a good food stock. Huns are especially vulnerable to this, since they tend to get early farms for their food-heavy scouts and skirms/pikes, nor do they have radar housing. Scout for his farm relocation and keep building protected towers to cut him short of food.
Back at home make a tower near your stone mine and make a few palisades near your wood. If you see him rushing , just make additional towers in strategic locations. Even skirms cannot handle 10 arrow-towers!
When you feel you are stopped and can not cut off his resources anymore, sell stone and click the castle age upgrade while making Barracks near the enemy. Most likely though you'll see him spreading like cancer around the map leaving his base to your towers, that’s why it is important to keep your scout alive.
If he starts to counter with towers, stop his towers with yours-- make a tower 8 squares away so that your builders are safe , then garrison it with 7 villies and your tower will surely win! Get Fletching also!
The worst mistake he can make is to fast castle. Simply get a couple of pikes. He was forced to relocate which weakened his economy. He was forced to leave his farms which made him hungry for food as well as for wood. Some of his vills are wounded or dead - You’ve got a major advantage!
A good tactic if you are stopped is to make a few scouts to kill his villagers who are too far from their TC since they relocated.
CASTLE AGE about 20:00
He will be most likely to make knights (If he even got to castle which probably won't happen any time soon) to attack your towers so guard them with pikes. You should get to castle quicker than him though, and from there you can chose to make a castle near the enemy, or go heavy on knights to raid his unprotected re-locatees.
Self Experience: I usually did a Mongol similar Trush, but since Teutons are expected to defend early on, and because their towers are so tough, and farms so cheap, I chose Teutons for this strategy. I played 12 games, Teutons vs. Huns, with players my own rank (1670-1760). The settings are standard, of course, ARABIA-1:1-DEFAULTS. Every single game I won!!! And I mean every one of them!!! One game though was pretty close-- my opponent was mining stone early and was able to defend; still I butchered him in Imp. with FU pike flood. If someone doesn't believe me plz check my new Zone name: Tsar_Alexander1. Later age combo could be pikes/pals/HC.
Conclusion: As you can see, early strong tower attack, which is focused on getting enemy farms, can do some major damage. Most of his wood is in useless farms and the rest will be used to relocate. He won't have resources to rush you, and if he'll manage that you always have stone. If he won't delete farms under your towers attack, his villagers will repeatedly automatically wander there and will be killed. Getting Fletching and Bodkin Arrow is a good investment. If you are rich enough, then you can also upgrade your towers grabbing all his resources in your Stone Hand.
