A good Samaritan is trying to return a lost mobile phone to its owner... with the only clue a 20-year-old picture of a young girl meeting former Manchester City star Georgi Kinkladze.
James Senior discovered the black HTC phone at Market Street Metrolink stop on Saturday night with no battery and took it home to charge it in a bid to return it to the rightful owner.
But after charging the phone, a password was needed so the only clue to the owner is a picture on the lock screen which, judging by the appearance of Kinkladze, of must have been taken in the nineties.
The picture shows a young girl in a blue dress, who appears to have just gotten the midfielder’s autograph as she is clutching a pen and little black book.
The Georgian player is dressed casually in a blue and white t-shirt and blue shirts with what could be a Manchester City bag.
The picture may have been taken just before or after a match.
Mr Senior, 53, said: “I thought if we charged it they might ring up asking who had their phone, but they seem to have blocked the sim so no one can use it.
“I know if I lost my phone, with all the personal stuff on it, I would really want it back so I am happy to go to the effort of getting this back to its owner.”
