Edmilson senses league title winning form
Just how much longer can Barça keep up this amazing run of form? When asked that very question, Edmílson responded by saying "this season we've got more players available. This team is able to maintain this form and win the league".FC Barcelona's Brazilian star believes that it is not just the fact that Barça have more players to choose from this year, but also that the less regular players, when they come on "are fitting in well with what the rest of the team is doing". Edmílson has no qualms about stating that if "we win all the games at the Camp Nou and get good results away from home, we'll end up winning the league".

But it won't be easy. For that, we need look no further than Barça's visit to El Madrigal on Sunday, a ground where they have struggled on their last two trips south. But, although Edmilson admits that it is "a difficult place to go to, the squad is ready to bring all three points back to Barcelona".
A quality rivalLooking in more depth at Sunday's opposition, Edmílson says "Villarreal are a complicated team, with some top quality players, and they generally play very well against us. We will have to prepare ourselves well for that, and remember that they too are playing in Europe this season". But let it not be forgotten that FC Barcelona are the defending league champions, and he adds that "we always go out to win every game, and that is all we ever think about".
Going without RijkaardThe most important absentee for the trip to Villarreal will be none other than manager Frank Rijkaard, who has been bedridden with a pulmonary infection since Monday. Edmílson accepts that it won't help to have to play without the coach there to oversee proceedings, but has been impressed with the job his deputies, Henk Ten Cate and Eusebio Sacristán have been doing: "Henk is doing a great job with us" he says. "And he has Eusebio to help him. They know us all very well indeed".
Unlucky XaviThe downside of the day has been Xavi Hernández, who was injured in morning training. Edmílson knows all about knee injuries, of course, and saw what happened when his colleague was injured from close-by. He described the situation by explaining "Xavi got injured when the ball was between him and Jorquera. He did a twisting movement and the way he yelled, I immediately thought it must have been a serious injury. It scared me, and I was really worried because Xavi is such an important player to us".
"We must be prepared for losing"But how does he think the team will react if they lose this weekend? Edmílson didn't think it would come as too much of a shock, saying "there is no team in the world that can't lose matches. Every team, both in the league and in Europe, is out to beat us. Although we always go out there expecting to win, a day will come when we get beaten, and we have to be prepared for that".
