Spalletti denies Rossi rift Monday 11 December, 2006

Roma boss Luciano Spalletti has denied that he has a problem with his opposite number at Lazio, Delio Rossi. “We have nothing to clarify,” he declared.
The Giallorossi were defeated 3-0 in the Derby della Capitale on Sunday evening and Simone Perrotta accused the Biancocelesti tactician of exaggerating with his celebrations.
“I don’t have anything to discuss with Rossi, there are no problems at all,” said Spalletti, who was at Coverciano on Monday for the Golden Bench award ceremony.
“Rossi is an excellent tactician and he proved this in yesterday’s derby. There are some occasions when you can be swept away by your emotions, but I didn’t see anything like that.
“I admit I wasn’t able to sleep after the match. I would not change any of my decisions, it wouldn’t make any sense now.
“We must look ahead, I am sure that great things await us and we must start by doing well against Palermo,” explained the Giallorosso.
Rossi had promised to dive into one of Roma’s most famous fountains if his side were victorious – and he kept his word, despite the cold weather.
“If I had done something like that, I would have caught the flu,” grinned Spalletti.
