Player Ratings: Lazio v Roma[
A 3-2 win for the boys in blue made for an utterly thrilling spectacle in the Eternal City - but how did the individual performers get on?LAZIOBallotta – 6.0: A solid performance by the 43-year-old veteran: he did concede two goals - however, he did the job when required. Was definitely not at fault for Taddei’s first goal.
De Silvestri – 5.5: Performed admirably at the back this afternoon, however was substituted after 64 minutes of play.
Siviglia – 5.5: Did the job when required, however similar to the majority of the other defensive players on the field, failed to have any real impact on proceedings.
Cribari – 6.0: Was called upon on numerous occasions to quell the Roma attacks, and did so successfully more often than not.
Kolarov – 7.5: Arguably Lazio’s most influential performer today, Kolarov made the wing his own, as he was extremely effective in all areas of the park. He played a crucial part in his side’s opening goal, which really got things going for the Biancocelesti.
Dabo – 6.5: Was substituted towards the end of the match; however he didn’t put a foot wrong today. Used his talent and experience to set up many of the Lazio attacking plays, and was a key player to his side’s success.
Ledesma – 6.0: Not the greatest game ever from the Lazio playmaker, as he failed to control the midfield as he manages to do so often. Still showed glimpses of his brilliance, with a few glorious balls into the area that heaped the pressure on the Roma defence.
Behrami – 7.0: A wonderful performance by the young Swiss midfielder, who scored the decisive goal at the death to give his side victory in the Derby della Capitale.
Pandev – 6.0: Took a while to get into the match; however he managed to score his side's first after 44 minutes, and from there, he and Lazio both lifted.
Bianchi – 4.5: A poor performance by the ex-Manchester City man, who failed to contribute. Having said this however, it was his first Roman derby, and thus he could be excused for failing to immediately adjust to the high tempo of the match.
Rocchi – 6.5: The Lazio captain was as effective as always and deservedly got his name on the score sheet, with a penalty two minutes shy of the hour mark.
Subs: Mutarelli 5.5, Mauri 6.0, Mudingayi N/A
ROMA Doni – 6.5: Was at fault for the first goal, however he made up for that with a couple of tremendous saves, including a world class one early in the first half to deny Kolarov.
Cicinho – 5.5: Didn’t have a major impact; however he still provided a lot or run for Roma down the right hand side in favour of Panucci.
Mexes – 6.0: Looked very solid once again today, and didn’t really put a foot wrong. However his side did concede three goals, and thus perhaps he didn’t do enough.
Juan – 5.5: Not the strongest performance by the centre back, as he gave away the crucial penalty that sent Lazio in to the lead for the first time. Still had his moments of brilliance in which he looked like an absolute rock at the back for his side.
Cassetti – 6.5: Was great early, and faded out towards the end, as he proved to be an admirable replacement for Tonetto at left back. Similar to Cicinho, he provided a lot of runinng; however he was more effective in doing so than his Brazilian teammate.
De Rossi – 6.0: Definitely not a derby to remember for De Rossi, who was good, but not great, as he has been in recent times. He failed to threaten the Lazio players with his talent and power; however he did manage to attain control of the midfield at times.
Aquilani – 6.0: Had a very similar performance to his team mate and close friend De Rossi. Proved his worth once again in favour of Pizarro, and managed to take charge of the midfield at times throughout.
Taddei – 6.0: Scored one of the most fortunate goals you will ever see, but to be honest, he didn’t do much else in the match. Had a decent first half, and was substituted early in the second half.
Perrotta – 6.5: Worked hard all night, and deservedly scored his side’s second goal to level proceedings. Needed more support from his wingers though, who let him down at times.
Vucinic – 7.0: Roma’s most influential performer in this match without a doubt. He managed to construct several Roma attacking movements, and came close to scoring on a couple of occasions. Proved that he can be effective on the wings, as well as up front in the lone striker’s role.
Totti – 5.5: A disappointing derby for ‘Il Capitano’, who struggled to have a major impact. He provided the assist for the second Roma goal, but he didn’t do much else worth noting.
Subs: Giuly 6.0, Mancini N/A, Panucci N/A
