Antti Niemi was the star of the show for Finland as nine of Fulham’s players took part in international action on Wednesday evening.
Niemi, making his return to the Finnish team following his retirement from the international stage three years ago, helped keep the scores level as Finland played out a draw in their friendly with Luis Aragonés’ side. ევრო 2008. (შესარჩევი) სან მარინო -

Simon Davies
San Marino 1-2 Wales First half goals from Robert Earnshaw and Joe Ledley were enough for Wales to see off the challenge from Group D whipping boys San Marino. Simon Davies played the full 90 minutes and showed a good understanding with fellow attacker, Craig Bellamy, on many occasions.
In the 12th minute Carl Robinson's quick free-kick reached Davies and a neat pass to Bellamy in the box resulted in a stinging shot being pushed away by San Marino stopper Aldo Simoncini.
Wales registered their second goal in the 36th minute when Davies and Bellamy combined in a slick one-two move to cut into the box and present Ledley with a far post tap-in.

Aaron Hughes, David Healy, Steven DavisSweden 1-1 Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland kept their slim hopes of European Championship qualification alive by grabbing a share of the points against Group F leaders Sweden in Stockholm, thanks to a fantastic Kyle Lafferty goal.
David Healy twice went close to adding to his qualification tally. First he tried his luck with a free-kick only for Andreas Isaksson to prevent him scoring his 13th goal of the campaign. Healy then almost netted just after the half hour mark when his overhead kick narrowly flew over the bar.
“Everyone was up for it tonight, the lads fought very hard and it was a good performance for us,” said Aaron Hughes after the match. “We played very well but first and foremost, we got the effort and hard work which saw us through the game. We needed a win to keep it in our hands, so we relying on other teams a little bit. But at the end of the day we’re still not out of it.”

Carlos Bocanegra, Clint Dempsey
Switzerland 0-1 USA Carlos Bocanegra, once again, captained the US as they recorded a win over Switzerland in Basel. The US won the game late on when Dempsey fed the ball to Michael Bradley who made no mistake from close range on 86 minutes.
Bocanegra could have given his side the lead in the 42nd minute when the ball was fed through to the Fulham defender who blasted his shot against Zuberbuhler.

Antti Niemi, Shefki Kuqi
Finland 0-0 Spain Niemi’s return to the international scene resulted in a clean sheet and a number of fine saves as Finland held Spain to a goalless draw in Helsinki. The visitors created the bulk of the chances but were unable to find a way past the outstanding Fulham keeper.
It was one-way traffic for most of the game with the home side looking to soak up inevitable pressure from Spain.
The Fulham stopper produced two world-class saves as pressure mounted on Roy Hodgson’s team, the first came in the 62nd minute when he tipped over Pernia's curling free-kick, and he repeated the feat nine minutes later to flick Luis Garcia's thumping close-range volley over for another corner.
Shefki Kuqi was also in action until the 66th minute when he was replaced by Alexei Eremenko Jnr.
"I am more than satisfied with our performance against one of the best teams in a high tempo, a good game of football which looked like a qualifying game," Finland coach Roy Hodgson said following the match.
