Guti is convinced the team needs reinforcements "to stir things up a bit," and he wants to use the preseason as building block for the future. Guti has returned with a wet appetite.
How has it been having Capello here?
It's been more of a reunion for me. I have already lived through his chats and training sessions. But, he still has the same strong desire and expectations that he did 10 years ago. I hope our preseason leads to a good year.
What is Capello's opinion on Guti?
A more complete and seasoned players that wants to continue proving that he deserves playing time. He surely won't be left out due to lack of heart or dedication.
Last year, young players like Robinho and Ramos were brought in, but this year it looks like they're going for veterans.
That's because everything is revolving around the Juventus situation. Juve is a great team, but we don't know if they will be relegated or not. That market is wide open. They have players who are 29 and 30 years old, but who still have a lot of football in them. We need to take advantage of those opportunities.

Yes! Let's hope he changes his mind. We'll miss him a lot. He defined an important era for Real Madrid. It was a privilege to play with him for so many years.
What did you think about the World Cup after it looked like you would be on the squad?

I lived it just like any other Spaniard. I was excited at first and then disappointed. The first matches were great, but we weren't good enough to get by France. Even so, Spain needs to be considered a strong team.
