Cristiano Ronaldo feels winning the Premiership is his priority this season and insists money will not be a factor in agreeing a new contract at Manchester United.
The Red Devils are aiming to win the title for the first time in four years and currently hold a nine-point lead over Chelsea.
And though the club are also still fighting in the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League, Ronaldo is targeting Premiership success.
"The FA Cup and the Champions League are important, but the Premiership is the road the heroes walk," Ronaldo told the Daily Mirror. "I think it's the most important competition.
"Of course, the Champions League is great. It would be great to win it, but if it's not possible to win that and the FA Cup, then my priority is the Premiership.
"I think the team is now more mature and we play very well. The team is more compact, the spirit is better and the results speak for themselves."
The dazzling winger is also in talks to extend his deal at Old Trafford and is adamant financial matters will not be motivating his decision.
He added: "Well maybe I will play football for another 10 to 12 years, but for me the money is not important, because I was earning money when I was 18, good money. Of course, it's good for me, that I help my family.
"My motivation is to be part of football history. This is what I think, this is what I try to do. I want to train hard, play well, learn with my colleagues and win trophies.
"This is the most important thing for me. But, of course, with a few lads, when they have money too early, football becomes the second thing.
"They think only about the money and then, after that, football. I don't think about this, I put my football first and after that my family and then money."
