Saviola denies Juve talks Friday 19 January, 2007

Barcelona ace Javier Saviola has denied that he has been in contact with Juventus.
The 25-year-old Argentine’s contract expires in June and, according to fellow countryman Andres D’Alessandro, the player might move to the Bianconeri outfit in June on a free transfer to join his former Coach Didier Deschamps, who worked with him at Monaco two seasons ago.
“I hope to renew with Barcelona, which will always be my first choice,” said Saviola in a radio interview.
“I hope I will receive an interesting offer from the Catalan club, but this doesn’t mean that we have to discuss an extension now,” continued El Conejo.
“Now it is time to play and work hard. At the end of the season I will sit down with the club management and discuss my position.
“I have read that I am allegedly joining Juventus, I really can’t wake up every morning having to deny alleged interests and contacts,” continued Saviola.
“I have never received an offer, neither from Juve now nor from Sevilla in the past,” concluded the player.
Deschamps is a big fan of the Argentine striker, as confirmed during Friday’s press conference.
“He is a good player, but I don’t want to say that I like him, otherwise you will all write that he has signed for Juve,” smiled the Coach.
“In any case, when I trained him at Monaco he would always play. But I understand that Monaco is not Barcelona…,” added the Frenchman.
