IT'S OFFICIAL
Milan welcome new signing Massimo Oddo with open arms and the player confirms that he 'is really happy to be here'
It's official, Massimo Oddo joins the Rossoneri ranks as the newest player in red and black. He signed a contract with AC Milan until 2011. Milan have also transferred the total ownership of Pasquale Foggia to Lazio as part of the Milan-Lazio agreement. Oddo spoke on Milan Channel after the news was official: 'I've wanted for some time to come to Milan and I am really happy to be here. This room is a place that is rich with victories and I remember some of these trophies being raised when I was playing in the Rossoneri youth sector. Now, I would also like to raise some trophies to the sky and win with this jersey. I am very excited about this new adventure. The discussions were long and I hoped that it would work out, but I like to be certain and actually sign before I get my heart set on anything. I am totally available for the team and the coach. I have been training up until a few days ago and I am doing really well.'
The number of world champions playing for Milan just increased to six. Alessandro Nesta, Rino Gattuso, Pippo Inzaghi, Alberto Gilardino and now Massimo Oddo all held the World Cup this summer in Germany and they all sport the jersey of the team with the most wins in Italy. Now, Massimo can finally return to where he grew up but this time he will be playing with the big boys.
Oddo debuted in Serie A with Verona in September 2000. It was also with Verona that Oddo got to play along with another Rossoneri champion, Alberto Gilardino. Gila would also be his team-mate in the World Cup, after Oddo made his debut with the Azzurri in August 2002.
