A CHAMPION DUO
Brazilian defender Marcos Cafu has his eyes on Roma-Milan, while Georgian defender Kala Kaladze feels like he will ready for the match in Ascoli
MILANELLO – Marcos Cafu and Kakha Kaladze spoke at the end of the Rossoneri’s morning training session:
MARCOS CAFU
‘Today, we underwent a long and intense training session based on strength. For those that didn’t start yesterday, it was useful work. It’s pretty much normal that you have to work kind of hard before scoring against teams like Parma that are focusing on defence and risking little. The important thing is that we won and this gave us the three points that take us that much closer to the Champions League zone. Now, we are going to play Roma for a game that represents a very important objective. On Sunday, we will be in Ascoli. The month of February starts with the game on Sunday and this marks the return of the Champions League. The schedule of games will intensify, so we must remain calm and confident and be ready when the coach needs us. Oddo played a good first game with Milan, a team with which he played for many years. He is a world champion and for us it’s great to find players that are already ready to play like he did yesterday. I hope that he fits in well here and that he continues to do well.’
KAKHA KALADZE
‘We worked hard today and for me it's important to do so. At the last game, I was at the preparation point and I think I will be available for coach Ancelotti in time for Sunday’s game. I feel like I am recovered and I want to thank all the coaches and physical therapists for this. I also hope that it won’t be long before I am in top condition. Now, it is really important that we are all doing well because it’s a delicate period and there are a lot of games and the second half of the Champions League. We are moving along well in the league and, in my opinion, we can make it to fourth place or even third. Oddo is a great player. Yesterday was only his first match and things will only improve from here. I am also happy for Inzaghi, for what he did in yesterday’s match. He is a great champion and he’s important. He is ready to demonstrate this in every game and in every training session.’

The other players worked in the gym, did aerobics and then focused on tactical work and a practice game, which ended the session. Rodrigo Defendi did not train with the group. Alberto Aquilani, Gilberto Martinez, Christian Wilhelmsson and Francesco Totti trained apart from the group.

GALLIANI: 'New meeting with Real tomorrow'
Adriano Galliani has related the latest from Madrid this evening: 'We will have a meeting with Real tomorrow at 12.00. The situation is as before, there are things to sort out: the price, the conditions of payment, terms and interest. Ronaldo wants to go to Milan and is ready to leave, there is an agreement with the player but not the Real management. I am neither optimistic or pessimistic, we'll start again tomorrow. We haven't talked about Cassano, Ricardo Oliveira or Kakà. A move concerning Cassano and Ricardo Oliveira would be impossible because both have played in the Champions League. Ronaldo is more important, it's an important negotiation and although tiring we will try again tomorrow.'
