Real Madrid have denied reports that Fabio Capello has handed in his resignation.
Widespread reports on Monday suggested Capello offered to quit after holding talks with Real supremo Ramon Calderon.
Capello's position has been under threat for the last few weeks after a disappointing run of form.
Real have failed to score in their last four home games and fans staged a protest against Capello during the recent defeat to Levante.
The Spanish giants are currently four points behind league leaders Barcelona after Saturday's goalless draw at home to struggling Real Betis.
Real have now moved to clear up the confusion regarding Capello's future by insisting he has not resigned.
"Fabio Capello has not presented his resignation either verbally or in written form," said Real spokesman Miguel Angel Arroyo.
"We can dismiss these rumours, which surprised us. We have had nothing presented to us in writing nor has anything been said to us verbally on this matter from Fabio Capello,"
Capello will now take charge for Tuesday's UEFA Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
