According to reports emanating from Spain the player has signed a four-year contract with Real Madrid. Those reports have been confirmed by the player's agent Jorg Neubauer to Spanish paper AS (Ace).
27 year old Metzelder will get four million Euros per season according to German magazine Bild, the generous offer being eased into place by the fact that the Merengues can bring the player to Chamartín for free as his current contract expires in six weeks time.
The player had undergone a medical with Real Madrid sawbones Alfonso del Corral, the club eager to avoid a repeat of the ‘Caso Woodgate’ (Woodgate Case) – where the whites signed an injured man – or the Milito debacle where Gabi was rejected and ended up at Zaragoza.
