Man Utd eyeing Bordeaux's want-away Faubert
tribalfooball.com - May 07, 2007
Manchester United are being linked with Bordeaux fullback Julien Faubert.
The 23 year-old right-sided defender came close to joining AC Milan in January and now wants a move to the Premiership this summer.
"The Rossoneri preferred Massimo Oddo because I was Cup-tied from the Champions League," revealed Faubert. "It would appeal to play in England. I wanted to go there before the door opened to Milan."
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is searching for a potential replacement for 33 year-old captain Gary Neville and is aware of Faubert's ambitions.

JOEL GLAZER was one of the first people to congratulate Man Utd on Prem triumph.
Joint chairman Glazer made his trans-Atlantic call to celebrate the
first trophy of major significance the Red Devils have won since his father Malcolm completed his controversial takeover in 2005.
And chief executive David Gill believes they have every right to revel in the Old Trafford outfit’s success.
He said: “Joel rang me last night to express his congratulations to everyone at the club.
“All the doomsayers who said we would be in trouble have been proved wrong.
“They have brought a stability to the club and stability is the key element of any football club.
“They have got involved with areas they think they can add value with and let Alex and the rest of us get on with the football side of it.
“They are delighted, they’re sports fans and they know what running a sports team is all about.”
