Fergie backs vintage Milan Sir Alex Ferguson says he is convinced Milan will win the Champions League at the expense of Manchester United's arch-rivals Liverpool. The Serie A side brushed United aside with a supreme semi-final performance, and Ferguson is backing them to go all the way.
The Scotsman also said he would toast the victory by cracking open a bottle of fine wine given to him by Rossoneri coach Carlo Ancelotti.
"I'd bet for sure that Milan will win the Champions League. I'm absolutely certain of it," he told The Sun.
"I said to Carlo at the end of out semi-final that there is no way he can not win this competition. Carlo gave me a magnificent bottle of wine.
"But I immediately told him there is no point in giving such a wonderful gift if he then fails in the final.
"In fact, I told him I would only drink his win once I see him lifting the Champions Cup."
Ferguson's words are sure to antagonise Liverpool fans, who will be hoping their side can pull off a repeat of the 2005 final, when they beat Milan on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw.
