Koeman Confident As PSV Take On VitessePSV boss Ronald Koeman welcomes back Jefferson Farfan to the fold this weekend, the Peru international striker returning from injury. The pressure is on for the defending champions as they welcome early pace-setters Vitesse...
Ronald Koeman is confident that his side can ruffle some feathers as league leaders Vitesse visit his PSV side.
The former Oranje legend said, "They've started the season well, and will probably not change their gameplan, so we'll face a compact, balanced and well-drilled outfit.
"But we play an attacking game and have several offensive options to slice their defence open, especially now that Koevermans is ready."
Indeed, Danny Koevermans is now available to play following his high-profile switch from AZ, while Jefferson Farfan (pictured) could add further striking pedigree by coming off the bench.
Farfan isn't quite at 100% fitness, but Ronald Koeman is so taken with the Peruvian hitman that he's determined to see him return.
"There's always room for Farfan in the squad," beamed Koeman.
"He's started full training again, but lacks a bit of match sharpness. We've included him in the squad, although he won't start the game."
Indeed, Koeman can't be too hasty, as he'll need his full squad for the impending glut of games that sees PSV take on seven opponents in less than a month.
"We're looking ahead to a tight schedule of games - we play four league ties, two Champions League games and a Dutch Cup match all in three weeks," he said.
"It'll be hectic, but we're looking forward to it."
Vitesse Arnhem coach Aad de Mos is under no illusions heading into this tie, saying, "Away to PSV is about as difficult a match as we'll play this season.
"But we're not worried. Our defence is superb, our attack full of players who can turn a game in an instant.
"We'll see what happens, but I believe in my boys.
"We try to play attacking football, but you always have respect the strength of your opponent.
"Nonetheless, we have started very well with nine points in the bag - that's what counts."
Vitesse will miss Cees Keizer, Rihairo Meulens and Jasar Takak due to knocks, while Sebastien Sansoni's suspension rolls on.
