As West Ham offer £15m, Inter call Adriano for tonight’s Gamper Trophy test match against Barcelona.
The Brazilian has refused all loan moves, insisting that if he is to be pushed out of San Siro, it must be in an all-or-nothing transfer.
Hearing this news, West Ham reportedly changed their offer from a temporary to a permanent agreement worth £15m.
That leads many to believe this evening will see Adriano’s final appearance in a Nerazzurri jersey at the Nou Camp, kick-off 21.00 UK time.
He has made the trip along with Alvaro Recoba, Hernan Crespo and youth team player Mario Balotelli for the Gamper Trophy friendly tournament with Barca.
Coach Roberto Mancini has left many of his top players behind in Milan, including Walter Samuel, Ivan Cordoba, Dejan Stankovic, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Julio Cesar and Javier Zanetti. New signings Pele and Alfonso are in the side, though.
Lazio are also firmly interested in an approach for Adriano, but would only be able to take the striker on loan.
Manchester City and Parma are other options, although West Ham certainly seem to be leading the pack.
"I don't know too much about it to be fair,” said Hammers boss Alan Curbishley.
"I don't know if it is talk to stir things up, if you like, we will have to see. I just think it is something that has cropped up. Is it speculation or is there something in it? I don't know."

Parma boss Domenico Di Carlo has stressed his desire to work with unsettled Inter star Adriano, but Lazio are waiting to pounce.
The future of Adriano has become one of the major sources of speculation as Friday’s transfer deadline edges ever closer.
The Brazilian hitman is determined to leave the San Siro in search of first-team football, but he is unwilling to leave on loan.
However, it seems that he may have no other option with no side willing to risk paying a large fee for the troubled genius.
While Premiership stragglers West Ham continue to try and lure Adriano to England with a reported £10m bid, Parma tactician Di Carlo has admitted he would love to see him arrive at the Stadio Tardini.
“If he were to arrive, I would put him straight in the team,” the ex-Mantova man enthused. “A great champion like Adriano knows his role and would fit straight in.”
The Ducali have been searching for striking options since missing out on Azzurrini starlet Giuseppe Rossi this summer.
“We have a competitive squad already, but I would be very happy to see any reinforcements,” Di Carlo continued.
Lazio may have a better chance of luring Adriano after extending their stay in the Champions League with a win over Dinamo Bucharest on Tuesday night.
“Adriano is a top player,” Biancocelesti Coach Delio Rossi roared. “I would love him to come to Lazio, but only if he comes with the right attitude.”
