Aragones admitted Raul is good enough
Spanish national team coach Luis Aragones has revealed that actually he has no problem with Raul. Spoke to a famous Spanish media today, Aragones admitted that Raul is in a good form at the present time and he didn't close the door for the Madrid golden boy. Aragones said Raul must keep his performance at the highest level in order to be used in Euro 2008.
"He is good enough for me and I never shut the door for him. He said his ambition is to play in Euro and I think he is a very useful addition to the squad. Therefore, I suggest him to play like last Saturday when he netted two goals. He is improving every day. I'm not blind," said Aragones.
The Wise Man of Hortaleza also mentioned his reason to stay as the national team coach despite he failed in the latest edition of FIFA World Cup. "I want to show everyone the real Spain. Many people criticised me a lot so I want to silence them with our achievement in Euro."
Raul himself thanked his teammates for his superb form. He declared that coach Bernd Schuster and his partner Ruud Van Nistelrooy are the most important factors in his improvement. "I enjoyed my partnership with Ruud. He is a very incredible striker, he's not only good in scoring goals but also creating chances. I feel lucky that Madrid have bought him."
"Our coach Bernd Schuster also impressed me. He moved me back to my natural position and he always trust me as his main choice. I always want to pay back his decision and I dedicated all my goals to him. If Schuster is not our coach this season, I think I wouldn't score eight goals until now. Of course everyone has helped me. In difficult moments, all of the Madrid players and staff had been supporting me," stated Raul.
