Aquilani renews Scudetto belief Tuesday 25 March, 2008

Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani has thanked Juventus for beating Inter last Saturday, but he knows the Giallorossi still have a tough task ahead.
The capital club secured a 2-1 win over Empoli and were jubilant after leaders Inter fell against Juventus to reduce the gap at the top to four points.
“We have to continue to believe that we can do it,” Aquilani declared. "Now more than ever because of all the sacrifices we have made.
“It feels better to be just four points back and we have to thank Juve for that – they gave us a really great gift.
“There’s a lot of enthusiasm in the dressing room, but we still have to keep our feet on the ground and we are fighting on three fronts.”
Roma are still hoping for glory in the Champions League and Coppa Italia as well as the League, but Aquilani is certain that they will be able to remain focused on one test at a time.
“Now the objective is to go to Cagliari and win,” he insisted. “Of course it won’t be easy because they are in form and desperately need points to escape relegation.
“Meanwhile, Inter won’t get any help from Lazio – they are a side that always try and give their best on the pitch.”
There has been widespread speculation over Aquilani’s future in recent months, with Inter reportedly lining up a summer bid, but the 23-year-old dismissed such rumours.
“I still have a long time to go on my contract – it expires in 2010,” he scoffed.
