Ferdinand Should Be England Captain - Hargreaves
Owen Hargreaves has backed his Manchester United team-mate Rio Ferdinand to land the permanent captaincy of the English national team.
Capello is yet to name a permanent captain, having given both Rio Ferdinand and Steven Gerrard the opportunity to lead in friendlies against France and Switzerland respectively.
John Terry, who was skipper under McClaren’s regime, has not been handed the armband since Capello took over, leaving he and the team in a leadership limbo for the time being.
“There are a lot of individuals who could be captain but Rio has been the most consistent player in England this season," Hargreaves opined.
"He epitomises everything we did and he would be a fantastic captain.”
Hargreaves went on to insist that club allegiances are left outside the door whenever the England team meets up.
“Man Utd players are on a high and Chelsea players are disappointed but we are professional enough to put that aside," he said.აი ეს არის ყველაზე მაგარი

“The final has gone, we are a team now and we are focused on the game not a game that happened a week ago.
“There is a great amount of mutual respect. Both teams really gave it a go and went for it.”
