Mancini signs for Inter


Amantino Mancini is an Inter player after the Nerazzurri agreed a deal with Roma this afternoon.

The Brazilian wizard was a star for the Giallorossi last season, but had made it clear that he saw his future elsewhere.

New Inter boss Jose Mourinho set his heart on bringing Mancini in as his first addition and that has come to fruition.

Early indications are that the Italian champions will pay their Super Cup opponents £10.3m and that Mancini will sign a four-year deal worth £2.8m per season.

“Both sides are satisfied,” Inter director Gabriele Oriali told Sky Sport Italia.

“We hope that Mancini can do as well as Cristian Chivu has for us and become an important player.”

The Special One had been on a quest for a world-class winger for his scheme and the Brazilian midfielder had always topped his shortlist, followed by FC Porto's Ricardo Quaresma.

With news sources in Europe claiming earlier today that Mourinho had decided to not follow his interest in Quaresma, speculation arose that Inter were very on Mancini's deal.

The 27-year-old winger has allegedly signed a four-year deal with Inter Milan after the two clubs concurred on a €13 million fee and will be rewarded with an annual salary of €3,5 million.

Mancini will become Mourinho's first summer signing, with several reports suggesting the Portuguese tactician to be interested in a reunion with Frank Lampard, who he guided during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Inter Favorites Because Of Mourinho - Lippi
Italy coach Marcello Lippi thinks Inter are the favorites for the Scudetto because of Jose Mourinho's arrival.

According to the Italian national team coach the Nerazzurri are the favorites for the title ahead of the new season.

"I like Mourinho very much," he said, "for this reason I think Inter are the favorites to win the Scudetto. Mourinho is a tough guy, but when so many players speak positively about a coach, it means he has done well."

Looking back on Euro 2008, the World Cup winner gave his view on who was the best player of the tournament: "Spain midfielder Marcos Senna was the most important player for the team's victory."

Talking about the challenges ahead of the road towards the 2010 World Cup, Lippi said: "I will build a winning group which will not be much different to the one seen at the Euros. We need intelligent lads with unity and willingness to make sacrifices for one another: these were the qualities which allowed us to triumph at the World Cup."

Lampard always more neroazzurro. Felipe Scolari is destined to lose the midfielder of English national team.
