And despite the Catalan behemoths going through a massive rebuilding process this term, the 34 year old is still impressed by the Barça team and their attractive playing style.
“Barcelona are an incredible team. I love their style of play and I like the way they pass the ball,” he said in an interview with Spanish daily, El Mundo Deportivo.
It’s not the first time that Nash has come face to face with the Blaugrana. In 2006, when a Frank Rijkaard-led Barça side who were about to hit their prime visited New York, the Phoenix Suns point guard – equivalent to a playmaker in football – also watched the team train at Giants Stadium.
Not only that, he posed for photographs with Ronaldinho, Mark van Bommel, Gio van Bronkhorst and Samuel Eto’o, before slipping on a pair of boots to train briefly with his Catalan guests.
The 1.91 metre tall player then joked about his friendship with Thierry Henry: “My father is from London and my team is Tottenham. Now that Henry has left Arsenal, we can be friends again.”
Finally, Nash also handpicked players such as Iniesta, Bojan, Xavi and Messi as some of his favourite Blaugrana superstars, along with Henry, ofcourse.
