Nedved Could Play On Another Year - Agent
Pavel Nedved's retirement plans could go out of the window as his agent has hinted that the Czech star could be in line for a contract extension.
Juventus midfielder Pavel Nedved could delay his retirement plans and stay in Turin on a pay-as-you-play scheme.
The Czech star's contract will expire in June but Juve are yet to come forward with proposals of a new deal.
La Gazzetta Dello Sport claims Nedved could be offered a pay as you play type deal in an attempt to keep him at the club and help the younger players develop.
There has been plenty of speculation hanging over the player's future in recent days as it has been suggested that the former Ballon d'Or winner could be tempted to stay on at the top level for another year. Mino Raiola, Nedved's agent, believes the midfielder can stay on for another season if he is in top physical condition.
"Nedved's last season? I wouldn't say so and I am not convinced," Raiola told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"If he is well enough then he will play on; if not then he will still stay in the game as a role model or mentor. He loves the younger players and he has a good eye for talent.
"He was the one who told me about Maxwell and Zdenek Grygera."
If Nedved does retire then Raiola believes Napoli's Marek Hamsik is the only one who can come in and do the job.
"It's hard to find a Nedved replacement; the only person who is ready to do take on the role is Hamsik," concluded the agent.
CSKA Moscow star Yuri Zhirkov and Valencia's David Silva have also been touted as possible replacements.
Juventus clash with Lazio tomorrow night and Nedved is set to return after missing out on the Coppa Italia win over Catania during the weeK
