Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni believes team-mate Frank Ribery is the ideal replacement for Pavel Nedved at Juventus, and he is urging the Old Lady to move for the Frenchman.
The Czech midfielder is set to retire when his contract expires at the end of the season and Juve have failed to offer him a new deal.
The race is on to find an alternative, though a number of top-players are being linked with the role in Turin. Valencia's David Silva, Werder Bremen ace Diego and Schalke 04 star Ivan Rakitic have been subject to rumours linking them to Juve.
However, Toni, who knows Ribery well, believes the Bianconeri should sign him.
"Nedved is a great player but, in my opinion, Ribery is better," Toni told Tuttosport.
"Franck is playing on the left wing in Bayern's 4-4-2, which is the position he prefers. I think he will become the best in the world within a few years.
"He is a real phenomenon and it's normal that all the big European teams follow him with interest. If I was a director at Bayern then I wouldn't let him leave."
Despite reports suggesting the Frenchman is ready to stay in Germany, Toni's revelations seem to suggest Ribery is getting ready to move to Italy.
"He is always asking me about Serie A. He is curious about it and he is learning our language," concluded the Italian international.
