Ancelotti: Title ambitions are over

Carlo Ancelotti believes the referee penalised Milan, but is ready to concede the Scudetto is no longer an objective.
“We should've had two penalties, not just one. As for Adriano's goal, I'd say his header was certainly not going into the net,” he said of the Brazilian's opener, which bounced in off an arm.
“The hand was decisive for the goal. Whether it's voluntary, I cannot say, but the ball was clearly not going on target.
“I would call that a fairly clear incident. The player is totally clear to jump and under no pressure. It's easy to judge.”
The 2-1 derby defeat leaves Milan 11 points adrift of the leaders and Ancelotti admits the title race is over as far as they are concerned.
“We can't think about that right now, as we are 11 points behind. Our objective is to finish in the top three and we are playing well, but we have to be careful, as this will be a long season right to the end.”
“11 points is a great deal, so we have to focus on the other objective, which is qualifying directly for the Champions League and then of course the UEFA Cup. I think the team is in good shape right now and we have to keep going.”
Alexandre Pato scored late on to set up a very tense finale, but the Rossoneri were unable to equalise.
“He has to keep playing like this and is destined to become one of the best strikers in the world.
“It was a game we started fairly well and suffered under Inter's strength and long ball, but we knew that would happen. We ran the risk of going 3-0 down, but the latter stages were all Milan and we deserved a draw.
Ronaldinho was particularly inspired in Kaka's absence, ending a run of poor performances and spells on the bench.
“He is back to his usual levels, the way he was playing in the first half of the season, and was always in the thick of the action.”
“[Clarence] Seedorf was perhaps the most consistent on the field. We played well and only really had problems in terms of physique with Ibrahimovic and Adriano.”
Some have said this will be Ancelotti's final derby, as the failure to win the title and interest from Chelsea could see him quit San Siro at the end of the season.
“I already answered this. It was not my last derby and nothing has changed since yesterday.”

Adriano opened the scoring at the San Siro, but the ball controversially came off his forearm before landing in the back of the net.
"It's true that I touch the ball with my arm, but it was inadvertent. I wanted to score with my head, but my hand was where it usually was. For me, it was involuntary, and all who have seen it agree that it was so," the Brazilian international told the Corriere dello Sport immediately following the match.
Adriano had struggled the past two season at Inter, but has been on a scoring streak of late and has credited Jose Mourinho with saving his career.
"I dedicated the goal to his son," Adriano revealed, referring to his embrace with the ex-Chelsea boss in celebration of his goal. "Mourinho's given me the opportunity to play again and I hope to continue like this."
Inter are now nine points ahead of Juventus and eleven ahead of AC Milan in the Scudetto race. "I hope my goal is remembered as the one that won us the championship," concluded the former Parma hitman.
