Arjen Robben could be set to return for Real Madrid in time to face Barcelona at the weekend and he will be asked to help stop Lionel Messi by coach Juande Ramos, according to a report.
The Dutchman pulled up with another injury only minutes after coming on against Getafe last week and was expected to be out until the middle of May, but hopes are high that he will return early.
While Ramos is not banking on Robben, if he is given the green light to train again on Thursday or Friday then Marcelo will be asked to drop to left-back while he plays on the flank in front, AS state.
Both players will be employed to perform defensive duries when Barcelona have the ball and to try and stop Messi from having an influence on a match that Madrid must win.
Gabriel Heinze and Sergio Ramos could also play on the left, but Ramos is keen to use Macelo's speed to try and hold up the Blaugrana's Argentinian star.
The Madrid coach also has choices to make in midfield with Guti hoping to be named alongside either Fernando Gago or Lassani Diarra again after he performed well against Sevilla.
