Milan reclaimed second place in the Serie A, following their impressive 5-1 triumph over Torino at the San Siro stadium. Pippo Inzaghi led the way for the Rossoneri, by grabbing a hat-trick within the first hour of play, to ensure the result and their place in the standings.
Massimo Ambrosini and Kaka also managed to get their names onto the score-sheet, with the latter scoring for the first time since early February, when he was injured against Reggina.
“I am very happy to have scored tonight, as the result is a very important one for the club,” Kaka affirmed in an interview with Sky.
“We have reached second place, and now we certainly can achieve our primary goal of finishing in this position. The next few matches in the league will be crucial if we wish to achieve this.”
Despite his positive attitude following the contest, the Brazilian went on to discuss his regrets for the season thus far, as well as his future with the Rossoneri.
“Certainly we deeply regret some of our performances earlier in the season, because we could have done a lot better.
“The championship is difficult for this very reason though, and Inter have been doing better than us on a more consistent basis. We will continue to believe until the very end.
“As for my future, I have said it and proven it on many occasions, so there is nothing more to add. I love this club, and the fans are amazing.”Milan extended their undefeated run to six as a result of their latest victory, and they will be confident about making it seven next week, when they host Palermo at the San Siro stadium.
