Line-ups: Juv-Azzurri for Bulgaria
Wednesday 9 September, 2009
There are seven Juventus players in the starting XI as Italy welcome Bulgaria to Turin in tonight's World Cup qualifier.
The Bianconeri walking out on to the familiar pitch of the Stadio Olimpico will be Gianluigi Buffon, Fabio Cannavaro, Giorgio Chiellini, Fabio Grosso, Claudio Marchisio, Mauro Camoranesi and Vincenzo Iaquinta.
Curiously, it will be Grosso's first ever appearance in this stadium, as he signed for Juve at the end of the transfer window and has not yet made his debut for the side.
Coach Marcello Lippi has made numerous changes from the side that won 2-0 in Georgia thanks to two Kakha Kaladze own goals.
Daniele De Rossi returns from a ban, while Andrea Pirlo is pushed forward into a trequartista role behind the strikers.
This is because the Milan man has been struggling in his deep midfield position and is thought to be given more 'protection' further up the pitch.
Giuseppe Rossi, Domenico Criscito, Marco Marchionni and Angelo Palombo all started in Tbilisi, but are benched this evening.
Italy: Buffon; Zambrotta, Cannavaro, Chiellini, Grosso; Camoranesi, De Rossi, Marchisio; Pirlo; Gilardino, Iaquinta
