Player Ratings:
Moya - 5.5 - Hardly had to do anything, but deserves credit for keeping focused during long streches of bordem.
Miguel - 6.5 - Continually frustrated Perotti down the flank and forced Sevilla to move inside where they were then crowded out. Didn't do much offensively.
Dealbert - 7 - An impressive performance on his debut.
Alexis - 7 - When Sevilla were looking to break through before the halftime interval, the central defender made several superb interceptions to deny them.
Bruno - 5.5 - Showed his tough side with a couple of fierce tackles and a cut head, but saw both Navas and Konko beat him to cross.
Marchena - 6 - Did well in his midfield role and injured Romaric before being involved in Kanoute's red card.
Banega - 7.5 - Looked slightly off in the first half, but was excellent in the second half, setting up both goals.
Pablo - 6.5 - Took his goal well, if of course he meant it as a shot and not a cross, and performed admirably down the flank in the second period.
Mata - 6.5 - Scored with a definite shot as he took the ball of Banega's foot to drive home and showed good touches going forward. Was off in the first half though.
Silva - 6.5 - Popped up here and there. Created some good chances.
Villa - 6 - Worked hard but didn't get quite enough service.
Subs
Mathieu - 6 - Did well to shut down the left flank.
Albelda - 5 - Typical Albelda performence.
Michel - 5 - Not enough time on the pitch to impress.
